About

Easton Gateway Airport was founded in 1944 at the time under the name Gen. Walton AFB.The airport was used for only WW2 before it was closed in 1954.In 1960 the airport re-opened and was name South Hatcliff Airport only Delta and American had flights into the airport.In 1980 The city Easton went under mass construction,as the city grew so did the population very quicky a new airport needed to be constructed.In 1989 Karenten Int. Airport was built and was used till 2010 before a half way done renovation was done.In 2012 Easton Gatway Airport.Finally in 2013 Easton Gateway International Airport was finally finished and the airlines rushed in.

Recent Years

The past couple of years the city of Easton has grown it has taken over corpus christi and the airport there is now just a general aviation port.Easton Gateway airport is becoming a massive hub for Delta,recently American Airlines and United Airlines have been looking at Easton Gateway for a possible hub,both already have focus cities at Easton and are rapidly growing.In February the airport joined The IAA(International Airport Alliance) allowing the airport to grow even further connecting it more with other airports like Orange County International Airport.Easton Gateway Airport Authority(EGAA) predicts this year will bring alot of new airlines and destinations,Lufthansa,Jetblue,British airways,And a couple more airlines are already planning service to Easton this year.Delta Airlines Is Planning To Extreamly Expand At The Airport,To Advertise They Have Built an Arena For Concerts and a Stadium for the cities Soccer And Football team.

Accidents

January 21 2013-Delta flight 511 had a right gear colapse as the plane landed the aircraft was a 757-200 inbound from New York,No-one was killed.

March 15 2013-Allegiant flight 21 suffered engine damage after a flock of birds got sucked into the right engine on takeoff.The aircraft also suffered tail fin damage no-one was killed but 3 were injured.

july 11 2013-Virgin Atlantic flight 112 was threated to be hijacked shortly after departure,the aircraft safely was able to retun and land at the airport,the aircraft was a A330 only 4 people were injured and no-one was killed

December 29 2013-Air jamica flight 333 was imbound from Montego Bay,as the aircraft tried to land the nose gear and the left gear wouldnt respond the aircraft landed safely no-one was killed but 15 were injured.

January 6 2014-A Gulfstream Jet departed under the company name "mogle casinos" a company out of columbia,the aircraft soon after departure crashed in mexico,No-one survived the crash.
